Perinatal & Maternal Counseling

Perinatal & Maternal Counseling is available to clients (and their partners) experiencing issues related to:

  • Anxiety during pregnancy or after childbirth

  • Depression during pregnancy or after childbirth

  • Obsessions and compulsions during pregnancy or after childbirth

  • Psychosis during pregnancy or after childbirth

  • Decrease in self-care maintenance

  • Difficulty adjusting to parenthood

  • Lack of sufficient support system

  • Pregnancy/Infant Loss

  • Fertility challenges

  • Adoption

  • Post-traumatic Stress

  • Traumatic birth experiences

  • Relationship conflict

  • Poor communication

  • Stress reduction

 

​Children under the age of 18 months may be present during counseling sessions. For clients who are unable to commute regularly due to lack of childcare or physical complications related to postpartum recovery, virtual services are available.

 

Clients can expect to spend the first and second session completing intake paperwork, identifying goals, and building rapport to begin the therapeutic relationship. Sessions will involve talk therapy and implementation of various techniques to help clients reach their treatment goals.
